Miss Patty

I graduated from Wheaton Central High School, received my BA in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from St. Norbert College, and received my Masters in Education Administration from National Louis University. I taught both 1st and 2nd grades in Wheaton for 12 years and ran a Wheaton Park District Swim Program for many years prior to staying home with my own children. After my kids started school, I spent five years doing long term substitute teaching in Naperville. My final year in elementary school was spent teaching remote first graders in St. Charles District 303. I have been the preschool director at our Good Shepherd church home since July 2021. 

FUN FACT: I coached club volleyball for 12 years and had one team that finished 3rd at Nationals!

I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in Information Sciences.  I worked as a computer programmer before becoming a stay-at-home mom. All five of my children attended preschool here and I loved it so much I have been a part of the Good Shepherd Preschool family since 2011. We also call Good Shepherd our church home. 

It brings me great joy to see the uniqueness of each child grow and learn.

FUN FACT: All my kids’ middle names are named after ski areas/national parks.

I grew up in Homer Glen and went to Lockport High School.  I attended Moraine Valley and Triton colleges, and have worked in the medical field, and have held many administrative roles. I have also enjoyed being a Realtor and staying home with my children while working part time. I have been in the office of Good Shepherd Preschool since 2019, and love it! The church environment, staff, and especially the children bring me much joy.  I live in Aurora with my husband Mark, and have 2 amazing teenage boys!

FUN FACT: I sing in a local cover band with my husband and brother-in-law!

Miss Bonnie

LEAD TEACHER

I grew up in N.Y. and received my degree in Early Childhood Education at Trocaire College. My husband and I moved to Canada where I worked in a preschool for 2 to 5 yrs olds. After our son was born we moved to Naperville. During these busy years I volunteered at Clow Elementary, led a Cub scout den and was then a committee member with Boy Scout Troop 75 right here at Good Shepherd. I worked for 14 yrs in the Before 3’s program at Wheatland Salem Christian Academy until it closed in May 2021. I am now blessed to be lead teacher for the Young 3’s at Good Shepherd Preschool.

FUN FACT: We have a rescue dog named Otis. He is a Whoodle and a bundle of energy.

Miss Cecilia

TEACHER ASSISTANT

I graduated from Dominican University with a bachelor degree in Liberal Arts.  I was in the marketing field prior to starting my family.  I have been a stay at home mom to my daughter and son for the past 18 years.  I have been very involved in volunteer opportunities within our school district.  I love volunteering and working with kids which led me back to the workforce.  I was lucky enough to hear about Good Shepherd through friends and parishioners and now I am lucky enough to be part of the staff.  It has been a joy getting to know our preschoolers and families.

FUN FACT: I have signed up for my first triathlon in August and I’m learning to swim.

Miss Helen

TEACHER ASSISTANT

I received my bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. After working in the advertising industry for five years, I switched career paths and pursued a degree in elementary education. I joined the New York City Teaching Fellows program and attended Long Island University while simultaneously teaching kindergarten and first grade at P.S. 307 by the Brooklyn Navy Yard. I took a fifteen year hiatus to stay home with my five kids (three of which attended Good Shepherd). I was fortunate to be able to join the staff at GSLP as an assistant teacher. The thing I love the most about my job is being able to see the joy of learning and curiosity through the eyes of our sweet preschool friends.

FUN FACT: I grew up in Hawaii and would love to retire there someday. I would also love to learn how to fly an airplane and get a pilot’s license.

Miss Nicole

LEAD TEACHER

I’m Nicole Jarrell and I teach the three-day-a-week 3-4’s YELLOW class. I have a BA in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and an MA in Instructional Strategies from Rockford University. Prior to teaching at Good Shepherd, I taught 3rd grade for 12 years in District 204. My husband and I have three sons and a daughter. I spend a lot of time volunteering with my teenagers. We enjoy working at Hesed House, DuPage Pads, FMSC, OSOT and other volunteer organizations. 

FUN FACT: I have been to five of the seven continents!

Miss Tory

LEAD TEACHER

I have a BS in Elementary Education from University of Illinois. After graduation, however, I worked for many years at Ball Horticultural in customer service and product management.  I’ve been at GSLP since 2007 and am currently lead teacher of the 3-4’s Blue Class.  I call Good Shepherd my church home and have been a member since 1995, teaching Sunday School since 2006. Both my children attended GSLP.  In my spare time, I enjoy riding my bike, doing yoga, and reading the Bible. 

FUN FACT:  I’m the oldest of 6 and have 13 nieces and nephews!

Miss Diane

LEAD TEACHER

I graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Il with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a Special Education endorsement. Before coming to Good Shepherd, I taught at Wheatland Salem Christian Academy in Naperville for 17 years.  I have also taught park district classes, VBS, Sunday School, math and reading enrichment classes and worked as a substitute teacher in District 308.  I am so thankful to be a part of this amazing staff doing a job that I truly love!   

FUN FACT:  I love to visit National Parks and I am a grandma to the cutest granddaughter in the world!

Miss Jennifer

I received my bachelor’s in business from Loyola University of New Orleans.  I worked as Account Manager at Citibank in Chicago until the birth of my first child.  At that time I decided to stay home with my children while they were young.  When my youngest was two I went back to school and received my Master’s in Education from DePaul University.  After DePaul, I was both a substitute teacher and a Math Interventionist in District 308.  I started working at Good Shepherd in 2014 and have loved every minute of it.

FUN FACT:  When I am not teaching, I love to read, walk, bake and travel whenever I get a chance.

Miss Natalie

I grew up in Oswego and graduated from Oswego High School in 2021 and am currently attend Waubonsie Valley Community College. I am pursuing a degree in either Elementary Education or Psychology with the goal of working with children that have academic, behavioral or social challenges. Good Shepherd is my church home and I have volunteered with Sunday School, VBS and as a Fusion (Disability Ministry) buddy.

I received my bachelor’s in elementary education from Illinois State University.  I worked as childcare worker for Good Shepherd’s Tuesday Morning Bible Study since 2016. I started working at Good Shepherd Preschool in 2023. I grew up in Mt. Carroll, IL and currently reside in Naperville with my husband, twin teenage twin boys and my goldendoodle, Sunny.

FUN FACT:  I love to read, take nature walks, bake cookies and travel to new cities and beach vacations.

Miss Courtney

LEAD TEACHER

I grew up in Naperville, Illinois and graduated from Naperville Central High School. Go Redhawks! I received my BA in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. I taught both Kindergarten and second grade before staying home with my three children; Nicholas, Olivia and Tommy. Once our youngest started preschool at Good Shepherd I knew I was ready to be back in the classroom. I have been teaching here since August 2021. I absolutely love my job! 

FUN FACT: A former student of mine was a first round draft pick and now plays for the Chicago Bears!

Miss Jodi

LEAD TEACHER

I grew up in California and Pennsylvania. I received my BA in Communications from Bowling Green State University and later received my Elementary Teaching Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh. I taught first grade in District 204 for 10 years. My husband Tom and I have 2 sons. They both attended Good Shepherd Preschool.  After staying at home with my sons for a few years I began teaching at Good Shepherd Preschool first as an assistant in the young 3s and then lead teacher in the 4’s.

FUN FACT: I enjoy reading, biking and baking.

I grew up in Naperville and graduated from Naperville Central High School.  I received a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa and my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Rockford College. I taught kindergarten and 1st grade in District 204 for 10 years prior to becoming a busy mom!  All four of my children attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool and I fell in love with this special school!  I have worked as a TA and a lead teacher and have even served on the Preschool Board.  My family and I call Good Shepherd our church home. I have enjoyed teaching Sunday School and assisting with creating curriculum for our Sparks program. I love working with preschoolers helping them learn & grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually!

I grew up in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, and received my bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University. I currently live in Lisle with my husband, three daughters, two dogs and a miniature frog named Twinkle. I started working as a Teacher’s Assistant in 2023.

FUN FACT: I enjoy home organizing and am a day of event, wedding coordinator.

I grew up in Addison, Illinois, and received my bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University. I continued on to earn my MBA from Benedictine University while working in customer service and operation roles. I left that world in 2017 to stay at home with my two daughters. I signed my youngest daughter up at Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool when we moved to Naperville after hearing so many great things about the program. We both loved it so much that I started working as a Teacher’s Assistant in 2019 and a Lead Teacher in 2024. 

FUN FACT: I enjoy refinishing furniture and home organizing in my spare time.

I graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s in Business.  I spent the first 20 years of my career in the business world.  After a couple years at home with my 3 boys, I began volunteering in their schools and discovered a joy for working with children.  That led me straight to GSLP where I have been for 4 years now.  I have been lucky enough to work with all age groups and can honestly say, I enjoy each and every one of them.  Watching preschool children discover confidence in themselves and the love for learning is extremely rewarding to me.

FUN FACT:  In my spare time I enjoy traveling, watching my boys play basketball and spending time with friends and family

ENRICHMENT

Miss Philo

MUSIC TEACHER

I have a BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Illinois and a Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from St Louis University. I received my teaching endorsement in the State of Illinois and worked for District 204 for 12 years. I have always used music as part of my speech therapy, was trained in Musikgarten and started teaching at GSLP nine years ago! Good Shepherd has been a church home for my husband Ryan and I since 2000 and our teenage girls have been raised here. We also have 5 sponsored children in Africa and Honduras that we consider family. I am blessed to teach God’s littlest blessings how to sing a joyful song!

FUN FACT: I love to travel and have been to multiple continents and am Scuba Certified.

Señora Doris

SPANISH TEACHER

I was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, South America. I received a BS in Computer Science from the Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Quito Ecuador. I have been in the Naperville/Lisle area for the last 20+ years. I was a Girl Scout leader, have taught Religious Education for 1st and 2nd graders, and was the Spanish teacher for a school for 1st grade thru 8th grade.I have been at Good Shepherd Preschool since 2011 and really enjoy the children as well as the staff! I am thankful to have the opportunity to share my language with your dear children.

FUN FACT: My favorite hobby of all is DANCE!!
